What to do and where to get support
If you think modern slavery is happening, tell someone as soon as you think it’s safe to do so. This could be about a victim, a suspect, or a particular business or place. You will always be taken seriously, and protection and support are available.
You can report modern slavery by calling 101 at any time. If you have a hearing or speech impairment, use our textphone service on 18001 101.
If you suspect someone is in immediate danger, call 999 now.

Sex exploitation
This means an actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, power, or trust, for sexual purposes, including, but not limited to, profiting monetarily, socially or politically from the sexual exploitation of another person. This includes transactional sex regardless of the legal status of sex work in the country. It also includes any situation where sex is coerced or demanded by withholding or threatening to withhold goods or services or by blackmailing.

- Vista (Harbour Church) – support to women involved in the sex industry past or present. They visit massage parlours, working flats and a strip club and offer regular one to one support with a non-judgmental, confidential listening ear with safety and next steps planning where a woman is seeking change, as well as holistic support to any woman affected by sexual exploitation. They offer advocacy, signposting and referrals and help with access to safe housing, drug and alcohol services, and sexual health.
